The following are links to resources that I personally use and recommend. There are also links to products and services that I don't
use but still recommend. For those that I don't use I will explain why I would still recommend them.
While some of the links are affiliate links (i.e. I get paid whenever you click on them and pay for the services or products mentioned)
I want to make it clear that this page is not intended to make me money. Instead it was designed to answer the question:
What services and products did/do I use to build my Internet business?
This page is by no means complete and I will continue to update it on a regular basis.
Categories
Building a Website
Lunarpages Web Hosting - When it comes to shared web hosting Lunarpages is definitely
at the top of my list. I now have my own dedicated server but I was definitely happy with the service that Lunarpages provided
while I built my business.
Rackspace Web Hosting - Once your Internet business is making you a good
income and you are starting to see more and more traffic come to your website(s) then you will need to upgrade to a dedicated server. I
recommend Rackspace as the best solution for this. They are not cheap (prices start at $450 US per month) but their support is the best that
I have ever seen.
ScriptLance - If you are looking to find someone to design your site,
program a new tool, create graphics, or anything else then I recommend Scriptlance. The site is not so user-friendly, but it is an excellent
place to find programmers, designers, and anybody else you need to build your websites. The designer of this site was found at Scriptlance.
Logo Design Pros -
The greatest thing that you can do for your business is to have a logo designed professionally. This will help to enhance your image
and begin to "build your brand" and your business. I used this company for this site's logos.
Starting a Newsletter
Constant Contact - I used Constant Contact for my very first newsletter
and was very happy with their service. Their services are great for dividing your lists into different categories and for providing
very professional templates for your newsletters. They are easy to use even for the beginner.
Aweber Autoresponder - If you are looking to run an email course or autoresponder,
or are a more advanced computer user then I strongly recommend Aweber. I use them for the free email course that you see on this website.
Basically an auto-responder allows you to set up emails that will get sent out in order to those that sign up for your newsletter.
Getting Traffic to your Website
Google Adwords - This is by far the best Pay Per Click (PPC) marketing
company that you will find on the Internet. You will get maximum exposure for your website by using Google Adwords. Be warned - make sure that
you understand how to set up ads and bid the right amount in order to make a profit.
Yahoo! Search Marketing - This is the second best place to go for PPC
marketing. Yahoo! listings appear at www.yahoo.com, www.msn.com, and other prominent search engines.
MIVA Search Engine - Although you won't get nearly as much traffic by using
MIVA's PPC search engine, it is a lot less expensive than Google and Yahoo. I recommend using a combination of all three of these PPC
search engines to maximize your traffic.
